Personal Statement from Nate: “As a coach I believe in developmental and age-appropriate coaching. I want my players to have fun and fall in love with a sport that can give them a lifetime of enjoyment and physical health. I believe organized sports and competition with proper guidance can help develop quality life skills.”

High School Playing Experience:
I played middle blocker for Soquel high school with four years varsity experience where we competed in CCS three times and was SCCAL League champions my junior year where I also received junior of the year and first team all-league. senior year we took second in the league and I was voted first team all-league.
Club Playing Experience:
I played middle for team Santa Cruz my sophomore year of high school, for OC BC volleyball club my junior year, and for Southbay volleyball club my senior year. Both my senior and junior year we competed in the Junior Olympics.
Beach Playing Experience:
I competed for two years at the open and AAA level and continue to play and give lessons as well as run our youth beach camp. I played in 2001 at Golden West Junior College in Huntington Beach as a middle and opposite and received first team all league honors
Coaching Experience:
In 2001 I coached for surf city boys volleyball club in Huntington Beach.
In 2002 I coached for Southbay boys volleyball club in San Jose.
In 2003 I coached boys and girls volleyball at new Brighton middle school
From 2004-2008 I ran the boys and girls volleyball program at Soquel high coaching both the boys and girls varsity teams
From 2008 to 2014 I coached at Mount Madonna school working with the middle school volleyball players coaching both the JV girls and boys teams and assisting both boys and girls varsity teams
In 2015 and 2016 I assisted the girls varsity program at Mount Madonna and was head coach of the boys varsity team where we won the league championship in 2015 and took second place in 2016
Profession:
From 2008 to 2016 I was a teacher at Mount Madonna school working with elementary and middle school age children. Currently I do cabinetry and officiate high school volleyball. In my free time I enjoy playing music surfing skateboarding and snowboarding and enjoy outdoor activities such as backpacking and fishing
